This was one of the human soldiers that I designed for Playstation 3's top-selling game, Resistance: Fall of Man. This was from 4 years ago and I believe I used Alias Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop for this concept illustration.

Only just picked up this game this week in pre-sale because I was looking for something to play waiting for Sony's Welcome Back scheme. I don't know how it slipped past me before!
On a critical note, the legs seem just a little too short / stubby for the body size, but it might just be the baggy trousers. Anyway, I love concept art, and it's great to see some of you secretive folk actually have dA accounts!
I love the way those soldiers look! I'm not sure if you know, but they are more widely used in Resistance 2... They are basically North America's military in the second game, and are really secretive and mysterious in the first one. I love this concept art... I wish the second game kept the dark bleak atmosphere that you've created in your art. It was one of my favorite things about the first one that made everything so mysterious and cool
I don't really remember since it's been over 4 years, but maybe a full day (8 hours) plus hours here and there for revisions to certain things until the final design was done.
I'm not sure which force it's for. When I was working on this, it was just for the 'humans' since we only had 2 categories-humans and aliens. I left before the game was shipped, so I have no idea about what characters belong to what.
Really? Wow! That's a super long time. It's still a great piece - and I'd imagine that you can get a lot done in the eight hours it took you. I'd have probably inspired my muscles to gain a few cramps now and then, though! c;
You were on Insom's design team? (if that's blond, I'm sorry) o.O I kind of almost wished that they'd used this character design instead. I think it inspires a lot more feelings of aggression (especially in the game where it was needed), instead of the civilian-army kind of look. Or, at least, that's how I think of it. . .
How was working for Insom? Whoops, probably shouldn't get into that. XD I'm an Insom fan - I love most of the games that they make. ^w^
Well it's outstanding work! I would've loved to work there and make stuff like this (if I had the skills). And now that you mention it, I do keep thinking that I saw snapshots of this somewhere or another, but I just can't put my finger on where I saw it. >w<
